qNet and the little secret that few know about...

A couple of years ago whilst we were having a general moan about how things were developing in the Internet, we turned our minds to do something about it.

Gathering together a core team of like-minded individuals we set ourselves a goal of doing something good and fun for everybody and hopefully even make a little to pay our rent (!), which ultimately resulted in us developing a rather radical business model.

We thought, why don't we build a social networking site and then er... give it away! Give to whom? Simple, to our members who are actually doing all the work with their valuable contributions and bringing their friends and contacts into the community. After all, such contributions are called UGC (User Generated Content in Internet-speak), so why should we own it? We feel it’s only fair that our members profit - unlike every other social networking site you care to name.
